Price List
Probably the most simple and transparent price list you'll find online for web services. No tricks. No haggling. Just clear, upfront costs.
This fee applies to all new website builds and covers the admin work for client onboarding, setting up the development site so you can preview your website during development, and handling all pre-launch tasks, like either provisioning one of my servers or providing you with the files to set it up on your own server.
Note: It's a one-off fee, so if you're an existing client wanting additional pages, this charge does not apply. However, if you already have an existing website that you would like to transfer to my servers, this fee WILL apply, as all the onboarding, server provisioning and staging site setup will be required.
As it says on the tin: It's £80 for every page you want on your website. You can have as many or as few pages as you need. For existing customers looking to extend their site, it’s as simple as that. For new customers looking to buy a site, remember that the one-off setup fee will also apply. Here are some examples:
- New one-page website: £80 + £190 setup fee = £270
- New four-page website (e.g. Home, About, Services, Contact): £80 x 4 pages + £190 setup fee = £510
- Existing client wanting two new pages: £80 x 2 pages = £160 only
Note: The price for making a web page is based on you providing the text and images for the page. The cost only covers laying out, designing, and coding up the content you give me. If you need help with the wording, no problem! I offer a content writing service as an add-on.
As the name suggests, these are web pages that contain a lot more information than your typical page. With more sections to design, the price does go up a bit. For example, a home page can sometimes fall into this category if it has lots of sections promoting other pages on the site. I’ll assess the requirements and let you know if this applies. But, just like with regular pages, the cost covers only the layout and development of the content you provide.
If you need help with the wording, no problem! I offer a content writing service as an add-on to help you get your message just right.
You might be thinking, 'Why doesn't this come as standard, isn’t it just adding a few lines of tracking code to my site?' Well, yes that used to be the case but not any more—welcome to the world of GDPR!
Under GDPR, Google Analytics cookies are now classified as 'Non-Essential,' meaning you need explicit consent from visitors before using them. This requires setting up a cookie preference manager so users can specify which cookies they allow (you know, those annoying pop-ups asking you to Accept or Reject something... has anyone ever read one?!). All of this needs to be hooked up to Google Tag Manager, Consent Mode events, and of course, Google Analytics itself. Not exactly the quick and easy setup it used to be. And unfortunately, all that added complexity comes at a cost. 🤷♂️
Also, keep in mind that GDPR requirements or the Google infrastructure could change, meaning potential future costs to keep your site compliant. TBH, if you can afford it, I'd say it's still worth having, but just be aware of the ongoing investment and responsibility that comes with it.
One more thing: This is an installation-only service. It doesn’t include monthly reports. I mean, if you ask me once in a while how your site’s doing, of course, I’ll nip in and let you know. But if you're a data-nut and want regular updates, you'll need to manage this yourself. It’s pretty straightforward, you'll just need a Google account. (Hint: if you've ever watched a YouTube video, you likely already have one 🙌). I’ll add you as a user, and you can log in to check your metrics whenever you like. There are loads of videos out there that will show you how to view and interpret the data far better (and with more enthusiasm) than I could. It's not that hard, trust me.
Domain prices vary depending on the extension (e.g. .co.uk is usually cheaper than .com). If you’d like me to manage it, the cost includes the domain price plus a small management fee. This covers the initial registration, DNS setup, and annual renewals.
For premium domains, like .shop, prices are higher (around £25/year+). If you'd like me to manage your premium domain, you’re looking at roughly £30-£40 per year depending on the exact price of the domain registration. This will be quoted on a case-by-case basis.
Alternatively, you can register and manage the domain yourself. Just make sure to use a secure password manager! You’ll need to share access with me for DNS setup (to get your site live), and losing control of your domain can be a real headache to recover. 🙈
Bit of time involved here hence the one-off setup fee and thereafter its the standard domain registration fee per year (from £25/year, for standard domain names, e.g. .co.uk, .com and .net)
This should be offered for free by all agencies but sadly it is not always the case. Good news for you I am not a cowboy.
I do not offer email as a service. It’s usually straightforward but if it goes wrong, hell on earth is unleashed. I don’t need that kind of stress in my life. There are many companies that do for reasonable amounts, Microsoft 365, Google, Zoho, Mailgrid, take your pick.
If you want a website, you need hosting; without it, your site won’t be accessible on the internet. I provide a managed service that includes setting up your site on modern, fast cloud servers, configuring the DNS and establishing automatic daily backups with the latest 14 days retained for peace of mind.
However, whilst hosting is necessary, you don't need me to arrange it. If you prefer the DIY route, there are plenty of budget-friendly options out there like GoDaddy, SiteGround, and Hostinger. Just keep in mind though, like any DIY project, you’ll need to invest some time and effort to figure it all out. But if you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and dive in, it's definitely the cheaper option.
On the otherhand, if you don’t mind spending a bit more to have someone else take care of it all for you, this managed service is the way to go.
Note: I typically only take on clients who prefer me to host their site. This approach simplifies management across multiple websites, making updates and problem diagnosis easier—simplicity is the aim of the game here. Plus, the margins from hosting help keep the main site design fee lower.
This package includes the same premium hosting service as above but adds the benefit of ‘content support’. This service allows you to request small, infrequent updates to your site, such as adjusting existing text, menu items, prices, opening hours, or images etc.
These updates typically don’t take long to implement, but it’s common for agencies to charge by the hour for such small changes. Some less scrupulous agencies may even inflate the effort to justify a minimum half-hourly rate.
This service is my solution to that problem. It allows me to provide support for those small, infrequent updates without the hassle of quoting and invoicing for every little request. It also means you won’t get charged my hourly rate for simple changes like updating a sentence or an image. It's a win-win.
Note: I want to emphasise that this support is intended for small, infrequent updates to existing content. If your requests increase significantly—such as weekly price updates or wanting an entirely new page—those will fall outside the scope of this content support and will be scoped and quoted separately.
This is my freelance hourly rate for bespoke web development work. Even if I've made you a website, and you only want a 'small tweak', this hourly rate will apply if your site is not hosted on my Web hosting (with content support) plan.
I understand that for some projects a quote would be preferable than an hourly rate. I'll assess this on a case-by-case basis and in applicable cases the requested work will be scoped and quoted before work begins.
If I’ve built your site, you get this service for FREE. All the static sites I create achieve a near-perfect Google PageSpeed score across all four categories on both desktop and mobile. Guaranteed. Google will love your site!
However, if you have an existing site built by someone else, your score may not be as strong. I’ve developed a valuable skill in optimising page speeds, and while I cannot guarantee perfection for third-party sites—due to factors beyond my control like hosting and CMS issues—I’m confident I can get your site into the green, achieving a score of 90% or above in all categories on both desktop and mobile.
If you want to enhance the speed of your existing site, this service is for you.
I'm just going to say it: You really don't need a contact form. Really. They're a pain in the bum and in my experience the hassle does not justify the benefit.
Firstly, you need to set up ways to mitigate spam by installing things like honeypot fields or reCAPTCHA to distinguish between humans and bots (which requires integrating into the Google API). Then, there’s the navigation through ever-tightening security measures from email providers. This means configuring additional DNS settings, like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records, to help the messages actually land in your inbox. Plus, there are potential GDPR considerations.🤯
I don't need this in my life, and I'm fairly sure you don't either.
That said, if you still really want a contact form, I can certainly set one up for you. Just keep in mind that doing it properly takes time, which is reflected in the price. Please also be aware of the potential future complications; should something change down the line and you stop receiving emails, it may incur an hourly fee for diagnosis and repair.
As an alternative, you might consider what I do on this site: having a simple email address that opens the visitor's email client, ready for them to type a message. Or if you wanted to get super serious you could invest in a third-party CRM and embed their form on the site, which is usually as simple as copying and pasting the provided form code.
I would say both are preferable to a custom contact form.
I used to offer graphic design services, but I’ve found that it’s not my passion. Fortunately, AI has come a long way, and combined with my design experience I can leverage it to create a professional-looking logo for you at a fraction of the cost that a graphic designer or agency would charge.
If you don't have a logo and aren’t overly particular about the specifics (as long as it looks professional), this could be ideal for you. It’s perfect for businesses without brand guidelines that still want to present a polished image.
However, if you have a strong vision for your logo, this isn’t the service for you, as you’ll likely require multiple rounds of revisions to get it 'just right'. Instead, this service is aimed at those who may not have thought much about having a logo but would appreciate one if it’s easy to generate.
In essence, think of this as a ‘logo-lite’ option. It will look good, but don’t expect (or demand) extensive revisions. You’ll receive three logo options to choose from, plus one revision to refine your selected design.
If you want me to take care of the ‘words’ for each page on your site, this service is for you. I understand that not everyone is a wordsmith, and selling yourself can be tough, especially if marketing isn’t your thing. You know your job inside out and you’re great at it, but how do you convey that in more than just a sentence?
If you have a general idea of what you want but struggle to expand or present it effectively, I can help. I’ve been marketing my own services for years and currently work at a top marketing firm in Leeds, so I know what resonates well on a website.
To streamline the process, I use AI to assist in content creation. By providing just a few key points about you and your services, we can quickly generate the initial content. I then use my expertise to refine and shape it into something cohesive and compelling—not just bloated fluff. As I’ve mentioned before, I use AI in this way to fine-tune the content on this site. It’s also fantastic for checking grammar, spelling, and adjusting brand voice quickly, saving loads of time on manual editing.
This price covers the design and development of a custom-themed WordPress website, allowing you to edit content using the block system and Full Site Editing (FSE). The base cost is for setting up WordPress and creating the necessary components to ensure you can easily manage your content. All other costs as outlined in this price list are still applicable, e.g. for individual pages + the new customer setup fee. For example:
New 1-page WordPress website:
£80 + £190 setup fee + £5000 WordPress development
= £5270
New 4-page WordPress website:
£80 x 4 pages + £190 setup fee + £5000 WordPress development
= £5510
To reiterate, all the additional services detailed in this price list, such as adding a contact form (£250), integrating Google Analytics (£250), and content writing (£60/page), still apply. This is to keep things as simple and transparent as possible. Treat this price list like a buffet—pick and mix the services you need!
